Simon and Luke – Joint Directors and Workshop Technicians
Simon and Luke have worked together for many years (formerly at Motorcycle Technics) – they have a good working relationship and are great friends. They took the plunge and set up by themselves forming Mototechniks in December 2005 and haven't looked back since. Starting off in a small unit and then moving to our current premises at Tothill in 2011 to take on Aprilia, Piaggio, Vespa and Gilera. Moto Guzzi has recently been added to the dealership which is very exciting!
Simon (Director/Technician)
Started out helping his Dad restore and show BSA Rocket Goldstars – he learnt how to rebuild engines at a very young age! Simon is a very keen motorcyclist and especially loves exotic and upgraded, latest spec machinery. He enjoys riding MX, Enduro and does Track days on his GSXR1000 when he can. His son Charlie is following in Dad's footsteps and having been on a bike since the age of 2yrs, has become an accomplished rider. Simon's daughter Molly is also bike mad and looks to follow in Dad and big brothers' footsteps!
Luke (Director/Technician)
Began motorcycling with schoolboy motocross (Norfolk and Suffolk) and competed from the age of 12-16 years. He achieved a good level of success and was always in the top 10. He also has road racing experience coming 2nd in the BMCRC Rookie 600 Southern Championship in 2002 riding a Suzuki GSXR600K1! Luke has just invested in a brand new Aprilia RSV4 RF and is enjoying being back out on the track.
Sally (Sales and Marketing Manager)
Has grown up with motorcycles and has been riding bikes since she was 14 years old (her Dad had made a 'track' in the garden for her to practice!). Sally has worked for Mototechniks for the past 10 years and previously worked at Revetts and Motorcycle Technics. Sally is a huge bike racing fan (to the point of obsession!) and avidly follows Moto GP, World and British Superbikes.
Vera (Stores/Parts Assistant)
Has worked in the trade for many years (we won't say how many!), working previously for Revetts and then jointly owning Motorcycle Technics. Vera is officially retired but luckily for us, she still comes in and works a couple of days per week! Vera is Stowmarket MCC Club Secretary and along with husband Jack travels all over the world as part of the support crew for the ISDE (International Six Day Enduro). Vera currently rides a BMW F650 GS.
Dean (Stores/Parts Manager)
Enjoys all aspects of motorcycling and currently has an immaculate Suzuki GSXR750K2. Dean is another racing enthusiast and enjoys trackdays.
Lauren (Stores/Parts Assistant)
Loves horsepower! Both on two wheels and four legs! When she's not at work, Lauren can be found in a field somewhere with her pony.
Daniel (Workshop)
Dan started here at 15 years old as our Saturday lad and now at 18, he's still the baby in the workshop at Mototechniks! Dan has an Aprilia RS125 and also his beloved Honda Crunch!
Martyn
Martyn (Workshop Manager) is a Honda trained technician and qualified MOT tester with 10 years experience. Martyn is a keen motorcyclist who enjoys all aspects of motorcycling. He has 2 young children and they keep him busy in his spare time!
